Gir Hoodie from Invader Zim by Haru-Megumi Gir Hoodie from Invader Zim by Haru-Megumi
Looks pretty commercial, doesn't it? xD

Here's what the back looks like: [link]

Hm... this took me 6'ish hours!

It came out really good! I really enjoyed making it. ^_^

Here's how I did it, it's very simple:

Buy a hoodie pattern from a fabric store (Hancock Fabrics, or Hobby Lobby if it has a sewing section) and hopefully you'll figure it out how to put the hoodie pattern together *had her grandma instruct her on putting it together XD* Unless you have someone who understands how to interpret patterns....YOU CAN BORROW MY GRANDMA IF YOU WANT. *puts up rent-my-grandma sign* Luls, just kidding! :)

After you do the pattern, the last thing left to do is sew on Gir's face and do a zip zag pattern. It's as easy as baking cookies! Unless you can't bake cookies... or maybe that's because you don't like cookies.... o_0

ANDD you also need a grey zipper (dur!) to complete Gir's hoodie! YAY.

Oh yeah, and everything is made out of fleece.

The only things I didn't add was a tongue and a tail... I almost added Gir's tongue, but I didn't like it sticking out over my face/head....my eyes would have been bothered. o_0 As for the tail, I dunno if I'll ever add it. xD

One thing I would like to change is the shape of the hoodie. I'd like to find a pattern that shapes a female body, rather than be a unisex pattern. Imagine... a hot Gir *shot* Nothing TOO spicy, just a little more feminine (since I'm a girl and all! Hehe)

Hurray for Gir!

Well, until I make a giant Gir plush (who knows when that'll be....), you wont see anymore Gir from me. :P

you're getting so good at this!
I pretty much am lame at any sewing except for quilting. My mother used to make a living by sewing Halloween costumes (how she survived outside of October I'll never know) and she was really good, not even using a pattern.
And I fail so much, ahaha. None of it rubbed off, I guess ^^;

Thank you!!!

Kudos to your mum :O

I attempted to sew like around 11 years old... I tried making cardcaptor costumes... they were all terrible. XDDD

This is incredible looking, ye really did a good job with it. <D

...I'm REALLY tempted to make a hoodie of something Mario related given the immense mario-tard I am. xDDDD Maybe I'll try making one of General Guy from PM64 or something, just so I have the extra challenge of useless add ons like his giant hat- I'd prolly make the mask a removable band that can store inside the hat or something so it won't always cover a person's face.....

I'm really going off the subject. >XDDDDD How many yards of fleece did it take to make? 8D M' fairly curious.~

Totally go for it!! or something XDD

Well like I mentioned, I used a pattern that was store bought, and then basically added in the details so it looked like Gir.

On the back of store-bought patterns it says how many yards to buy, depending on the size you want to make. Patterns tend to be pretty "generic" in size, so although the size I had cut was medium, it still was a little big on me (to answer your question, I got 2 1/2 yards of lime green fleece, and used like a yard of black for the sleeves....with fleece left over xD)

Alright- I'll definitely have to make one sometime.~ <D I was just curious how much it'd take so I could plan in the future how much I'd want to prolly buy when the time comes for it. x3 Thank ye.~

And getting back to what I should've said to begin with, utterly awesome hoodie on yer part. >XDDDDD I could totally see it hanging up in hot topic somewhere to buy.~ :iconstudmuffinplz:

Hot topic barely seems like a hot topic when I go in there. Half the time it looks like it should be a Gir Emporium what with how much SPACE his merchandise takes up in there! >XDDD
